Many of you know I have had the opportunity to do many speaking engagements in the past few weeks. I’ve been speaking about The 6 Pillars of Fitness. It’s a great topic. What I love about this presentation is I am able offer people a TON of tips on how to begin to make fitness and improved health a part of their lives immediately. We cover everything from how to take simple steps to improve your diet to how to take simple steps to improve (or begin) workouts. Things that are relevant and ESSENTIAL for everyone, regardless of age, size, ability.

The people I have encountered in these presentations have been great – warm, friendly, gracious. This makes the experience very rewarding. I am grateful to have these opportunities to touch more lives.

I have to tell you something that has happened as a result of these talks. I should probably be embarrassed to share this. But, actually, I’m deeply upset and, honestly, pretty enraged by the whole thing. I have lost a decent amount of sleep over this this week.

You see, one of the companies to whom I presented had their employees evaluate me after my presentation. Totally appropriate. I was actually excited to get the feedback. The first email I got with feedback from an HR woman said I was enthusiastic, passionate, high energy, knowledgeable. I was also told I spoke too fast (I’ve been hearing this since the 7th grade – so nothing surprising, although I need to keep working on it). I was also told I crammed too much info into the talk. Ok, I agree, there is a fine line between giving a ton of value (my goal) and overwhelming people. All in all, I was fine with this feedback.

Then I got a follow up email from the same woman (who was not at my talk, BTW, she was just reviewing the evals.) She said based on evaluations (or maybe just one eval, I was never told) I had a “clear inability to connect with the 40-60 year old audience”. She said she wanted to talk to me on the phone about this. In complete shock and on the verge of tears, I agreed. Over the phone, she told me I should curtail my presentation more to middle age women and promote things like walking and stretching.

Here is what my irrational red head mind basically heard as she was talking to me, “Hey Sara, you know that thing you think you are really good at? The whole working with women between 40-60 and COMPLETELY changing their lives thing? Yeah, well, we think you SUCK at it.”

Ok, so excuse me while I rant.

First off, my talk suggested things along the lines of cleaning the junk food out of your cupboards, drinking more water, getting in more exercise. You know, CRAZY things like that. I recommended that people looking for weight loss exercise 5-6 days a week, starting at 2-3 days a week and building up over the course of a few months. Again, completely crazy, right? Then I talked about high intensity interval training and how it is so much more effective that steady state cardio. You know, a scientifically PROVEN means of effective and efficient fitness and weight loss. I talked about how to do HIIT training if you were a walker vs a runner. I talked about the significance of planning your workouts and meals every week. I know, you can see how this wouldn’t have anything to do with people who are 40-60 years old. . . .

Clearly, I’m feeling super sassy about this. It’s not my fault, it’s the red hair.

I guess I should change my talk to tell people to stretch and walk more. Do you know many people who have improved their fitness from walking and stretching? Do you know people who have lost large amounts of weight, reversed chronic health conditions, dropped multiple clothing sizes, significantly increased their bone density, gone off cholesterol and blood pressure medication, developed enough strength to do push ups on their toes for the first time in their lives, learned to enjoy looking at themselves in the mirror or been able to out perform people half their age in Boot Camp from a walking and stretching program? Hmmmm, funny, me neither.

Interesting that each of the above accomplishments have been reached by multiple of my 40-60 year old clients in the last year. Too bad I’m not better at connecting with those 40-60 year olds.

Can I tell you how many prospective clients I have met with over the years who have come to me in tears saying, “I eat pretty well and I walk regularly, but I can’t lose weight?” Those folks aren’t walking anymore. They are squatting, lunging, doing push ups, doing timed cardio intervals, etc, etc, etc. And many of them are in the best shape of their lives. But I should probably tell them to stick to the basics. You know, walking and stretching.

Now, I’m not about killing people at the gym. More importantly, I’m not about telling people to go out unsupervised and take on a crazy hard exercise program. If you’ve ever met me, you know this about me. Walking can be an appropriate STARTING place for someone who hasn’t exercised in a long time, or ever. It is my number one priority that people engage in safe and appropriate exercise for their current level of fitness. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to promote walking and stretching as the cornerstone of a fitness program. THERE IS NO RESEARCH TO SUPPORT THIS AS SUPERIOR MEANS OF GAINING FITNESS OR LOSING WEIGHT. So it would be irresponsible of me to perpetuate the myth that a few walks a week coupled with some stretching can change someone’s life. I think we’ve been misguided enough when it come to health and fitness.

Given my strong feelings on this issue (and my inability to rest until I prove I’m right… Again, the red hair) I pulled aside two of my Boot Campers, Lisa and Jill, yesterday morning to get their input. Lisa and Jill are both in their 50′s. They are boot camp regulars and have been for some time.

You should see Lisa rock out the push ups on her toes. You should see her beside ladies half her age outworking them. Amazing! She’s worked really hard and it shows. Lisa participated in my first Total Body Transformation Program and in spite of having at least 10 years on the rest of the gang she was in the top 3 of 18 people for overall weight loss AND total inches lost. When I tell Lisa about this silliness over this presentation, she says, “SHOW THEM MY BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES!!! Tell them I’m 53! I’m an example of Fit Healthy Menopause!”

Then there’s Jill. Wow – Jill is HOT! Jill came to me after struggling with her weight and diet for 3 years. She lost bunches of weight in TBT, dropped multiple dress sizes and now she’s this petite little thing. When Jill first came to me she was scared to jump and overwhelming frustrated with what had happened to her body during menopause. Now I can’t stop her from jumping. In fact, there are weeks Jill comes to EXTRA classes to get her fitness on. So Jill says to me yesterday, “You changed my life when you told me jumping was good for me and it will prevent osteoporosis. Now I’m not scared of breaking bones anymore.”

Where would Lisa and Jill be if I just told them to start a walking program? Thank God I’m better at my job than that.

Ironically, in the middle of all this, another Boot Camp client, Deb (in her 40′s), writes on my Facebook wall, “You told me ‘Become comfortable with being uncomfortable.’ That advice seriously changed me in a significant way. Thank you!!”

Oh, and there’s Sydne, who adds up the weights we use throughout her whole workout and calculates how much weight she moved at the end. One day we totaled over 3500 pounds in 30 minutes. She’s like a little kid as she adds up the numbers and asks me to pile on more weight. She’s UNSTOPPABLE. Sydne is 62 and came to me about a year and a half ago completely deconditioned. Do you think this has changed her life?

The list goes on and on. . . . The point is I have worked with countless folks with stories like these over the last 8 years. I have to say, all of you who listen to me everyday and do what I say, even when you want to flip me off (you know you want to sometimes!!) have changed MY life. So changing YOUR life has been and honor and a privilege.

Now for those of you folks about to start my 4 Week Rapid Fat Loss Program – have no fear. Don’t let all this talk of push ups and jumping scare you. I will take good care of you. I will give you what you need to build fitness in a safe way before you become a bada$$ like all the folks mentioned above. But know that your life is about to change because that is what I do. I make you better. I make you fitter. I help you find your inner athlete regardless of your age, size, abilities. Walking around Greenlake just won’t do that for you. Sorry.

For those folks out there who want someone to set them up on walking or stretching program, I’m sure you can find a trainer to do that for you. But I’m not your lady. I’m in the business of changing lives. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Wow. 2011. Really???

I have been studying a lot of my colleagues in the fitness industry over the past few weeks. We’re all big nerds and in our free time we like to make predictions on the “next big thing” or the “next big flop”. I wanted to share some of our predictions with you. I hope you’ll read carefully and decide what your best means of fitness will be this year.

1. Boot Camps:
Boot Camps and intense group training have been growing in popularity over the past few years. But they are really well established now as an amazing way to get in the best shape of your life. If you live in Seattle, you can’t drive past a park at 6am without seeing at least one Boot Camp running. Sync Fitness offers one of the few INDOOR Boot Camps in Seattle. Thank God I don’t have to train in the rain all year long. You’ve heard me say it before, but Boot Camps give you amazing bang for your buck. For that reason I really think they are around to stay. Here’s a post I did awhile back about the advantages of Boot Camp over many other workouts.

2. Personal Training:
Personal Training used to be seen as a luxury item. I’m not gonna lie – it still is in many ways. It is so unfortunate that this has to be an out-of-pocket expense. I hope to see the day that insurance companies reimburse for this service. The reason I think it needs to be covered by medical plans is that most people don’t know how to exercise. It sounds silly, but it’s true. Many people do themselves a great deal of harm at the gym. Then a ton more people go to the gym and don’t get any results. People truly need the expertise of fitness professionals to help them lose weight and become more healthy. I’m not just talking vanity 6 pack abs here, I’m talking lose weight to prevent cancer, diabetes, heart disease. These things are a matter of life or death. If it’s a matter of life or death, it’s really not a luxury item…

My 1:1 training schedule is pretty much full at this time. But if you are looking for a personal trainer let me know and I can match you up with one of my awesome colleagues. Alternatively, I can put you on a waiting list to see me.

3. HIIT Training:
Long gone are the days of slow and steady cardio. If you are still killing yourself on the elliptical 60 minutes per session, please contact me. You do not need to suffer through mindless, boring, dreadful cardio. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is the newest wave of cardio and it is a million times more fun than slow, steady cardio and it actually gets you better results. I use HIIT workouts all the time in Boot Camp. My Boot Campers love me for it (as they fling sweat and spit all over the room!) I also do HIIT workouts on my own regularly. Here is a treadmill session I did posted earlier this year. This post also gives you more info on why HIIT kicks serious butt!

4. Detoxing:
There are a million ways to detox and some of them are off-the-wall crazy. That said, there is such a big movement to rid ourselves of toxins. Between the scary non-food in our food and the looming environmental toxins in the air we breathe each day, detoxing can be a really good thing. But, please never do this alone. There is a lot of Hollywood hype about detoxing. There are some *crazy* detoxing methods out there that can actually do more harm than good. I work closely with an amazing nutritionist, Mary Purdy, who offer seasonal detoxes. Mary does a fabulous job of guiding your through a safe, gentle and very effective detox. Contact her if you are interested in this awesome and cleansing experience.

5. Transformation Programs:
These little programs, like my 6 Week Total Body Transformation, are taking off all over the country. Never before have nutrition/exercise/support groups collided like this. This is the most powerful way to lose weight and make lifestyle changes. Until now all these components have been separate. So people would join the gym OR join Weight Watchers OR join a support group to lose weight. But now you can get all these services together as a package for a set period of time (4-12 weeks, depending on the program.) This is huge. These comprehensive programs are giving people amazing results and changing the way we see diet and exercise. It’s all about lifestyle and finally there a package that helps you establish a new and better lifestyle. I think these programs will be explosive in the coming years.

6. Home Workout Programs:
Home DVD programs have made a big impression in the marketplace over the last year or two. I think they are going to continue to be a staple in the fitness industry. There has been a lot of growth in this field since the days of Jane Fonda (who is making a huge comeback with my friends, the Tone It Up girls, BTW). Along these lines are programs like P90X and Insanity. I did both of these programs in 2010 and I have to say, these are not your mom’s 1986 workouts. No leg warmers here. These are hard core, gut wrenching, buckets-o-sweat producing workouts. They ROCK! I have a couple of friends who are Beachbody coaches (Beachbody is the company who produces P90X, Insanity and a bunch of other workout DVD series.) They can hook you up with these programs if you’re interested in checking them out.

7. Lifting Heavy:
Ok, this one may scare some of you. But FINALLY there’s bunches of research coming out showing what we’ve suspected for some time now. Women can and should lift HEAVY! Be gone 5 pound dumbbells!!! Let me clarify. If you’re a beginner, there’s nothing wrong with starting with light weights while you learn moves, develop neurological pathways and build strength. But after a couple months, it’s okay to push the weight. Challenge yourself! YOU WILL NOT BULK UP (unless you’re eating a ton and dosing with testosterone!) My fittest clients (non-bulky females with awesome definition) routinely use 20, 25, even 30 pound dumbbells in their personal training sessions. If you really want to become a lean, mean calorie burning machine, add muscle mass. You will get smaller, see more definition and pump up your metabolism. Do not limit yourself to those little 5 and 10 pound dumbbells. Of course, ask for assistance and supervision when working with heavy weight and do NOT use heavy weights unsupervised unless you really know what you’re doing. Do not set yourself up for injury!

Ok, game on, what’s your 2011 plan???

Wow. What a year for Sync Fitness. I am in awe.

This year has been successful in ways I could not anticipate last January. It has been the single best year for Sync Fitness for many reasons. I wish I could individually highlight each client I had the pleasure of working with this year. I want each of you to know how much I truly LOVE and APPRECIATE every bit of energy and sweat you share with me. Sync Fitness is nothing without YOU.

Sync Fitness started out as a little personal training business almost 8 years ago. Those of you who come in for one-on-one personal training deserve recognition and major props for training under my watchful eye with nowhere to hide. You can’t hide in the back of the class in a 1:1 session. Thank you for never saying no, for always trusting me and for helping me count when I forget how. 1:1 training is where Sync Fitness began and the relationships I’ve developed over the years with you, my 1:1 friends, mean a lot to me. I feel so blessed to enjoy the time we spend together. I truly love being a part of your life.

Sync Fitness classes have long been a part of the program, but they have evolved to an entirely different level this year. My Boot Camp program has grown so tremendously, I’m adding more classes starting January 3rd. What’s most impressive is that it’s the 6am classes that are busting at the seems. For those of you who get up 3 days a week and drag yourself to the Fitness Lab half awake/half asleep, please know how impressed I am by your discipline and determination. 6am classes are painful – but only for the first few minutes . Additionally, many folks in the Boot Camp program started out with a skeptical eye and a barfy belly, not sure if they could tolerate boot camp workouts. Look how many of you have survived?!?! You have all become stronger and fitter. It’s getting to the point that I wouldn’t want to workout beside some of you, cause you might beat me at my own game. Thank you for pushing yourself and those around you. Boot Camps classes fuel me and my own workouts. Your dripping sweat, spraying spit and crinkled up faces of pain, I mean pleasure, make my day, everyday.

The newest component of Sync Fitness in 2010 was my Total Body Transformation program. As I type this sentence, I can’t help but get a little teary. This program has changed the lives of over 30 individuals this year. It has changed my life as well. Guiding your transformations has been my most proud experience as a personal trainer. It takes huge courage just to sign up for this program. The applications I receive as people explain their struggles with food and weight and self image absolutely tear at my heart strings. Each of you have reminded me exactly why I do what I do. I can’t tell you how much joy I feel for your successes this year. In addition to looking simply fabulous, you are all standing taller, smiling wider and carrying yourselves with more honor and pride. I am humbled by the commitment you made to yourself and to Sync Fitness this year. Thank you for being incredibly brave, embracing this program and showing yourself who’s boss. Know that you inspire me everyday.

Thank you to each one of you for sharing a little bit of yourself with me. It is a privilege and honor to be a part of your life and your health. It is a job I take very seriously. Each of you have made me a better trainer this year. Thank you for making my little baby, Sync Fitness, the Little Engine that Could Not Be Stopped this year.

I have spent a lot of time designing this program for people who are REALLY serious about REAL results. If you are serious about losing weight, fat and inches this program is for you.

Changing your body is an overwhelming project. I have gone through this myself in a few different ways. I grew up overweight. I did Weight Watchers for the first time, and not the last, in the 5th grade, no joke! Changing your body can be the most empowering experience of your life. Years ago, when I became a self trained runner, I got myself through my first half marathon crying the entire last three miles because I was so proud of reaching a goal I NEVER dreamed possible. BTW, don’t be a self trained runner. I knew nothing about running when I did this and I made it a million times harder and more painful than necessary! So, please know that I am coming from a place of experience and transformation. I have set up a program in which I can hold your hand the entire journey. That said, this will be hard work and I do expect you to rise to the occasion.

WHAT TO EXPECT during 6 Week Total Body Transformation:
•	10-20 lbs of weight loss
•	2-6 % decrease in body fat
•	2-6 inches off your waist
•	Firmer arms, legs and buns
•	Flatter belly / Less bloat / Smaller waist
•	A metabolic boost that causes you to burn more calories at rest
•	Energy through the roof
•	Improved mood, sleep, sex drive

You should know that I have some expectations of you if you commit to this program. Your success will depend on your dedication and discipline.

WHAT I EXPECT OF YOU during 6 Week Total Body Transformation:
1.	You will commit to exercising 5 days a week (3 semi-private training sessions with Sync Fitness and 2 cardio sessions on your own.) Semi-private sessions with Sync Fitness will take place M/W/F at 6am, M/F at 7am and Tu/Th at 6pm at The Fitness Lab in Wallingford. You choose 3 sessions a week to attend.
2.	You will commit to eating a healthy and clean diet (I’ll give you meal plans and recipes.)
3.	You will allow me to take and use your before/after data and photos to brag about you and motivate others. Initial Assessments will take place on Sunday, January 16th. Final Assessments will take place on Saturday, February 26th.

WHAT YOU’LL GET during 6 Week Total Body Transformation:
•	ASSESSMENTS: This is the fun stuff. I will take and compile your before and after data and photos. I will measure and track your weight, body fat, and body circumference measurements. I know, this doesn’t sound fun. But, trust me, when you compare them end numbers to the beginning numbers, you’ll think it’s the best game ever! VALUE = $187
•	STRENGTH TRAINING SESSIONS: I will give you an exercise program that maximizes your workout time to make you a lean, mean calorie burning machine. You’ll meet with me for semi-private training 3 days a week. No more guessing what exercises to do! I will also make sure that you’re performing exercises in a safe way to minimize the risk of injury and blast calories like never before. VALUE = $367
•	CARDIO WORKOUTS: I will show you ways to make cardio fly by and burn more calories that you ever thought possible. I’ll even teach you some special tricks to burn more calories in your sleep! VALUE = $197
•	NUTRITION: You know what you should eat, but you just haven’t taken the time and effort to clean up your diet, right? I’ll give you a specific meal plan to follow with a ton of recipes. Nothing crazy or super restrictive – just good, healthy, clean eating. VALUE = $ 287
•	SUPPORT/SURPRISES: This is the best part of the program. I don’t share all of this publicly. But this piece of the weight loss puzzle will be huge in your success – promise! You will have constant access to me in person and via phone and email. Additionally, there will be surprises/education/support that will ensure that you will have amazing results over this 6 weeks. VALUE = $ 597

Are you ready to sign up yet??

As you can see this program is worth over $1600. But I want to be able to share it with as many people as possible, so I’m offering it as low as I possibly can. The 6 Week Total Body Transformation Program including everything above is two payments of $247. Your first payment will be at the beginning of the program, the second one will be at the halfway point. You would spend twice as much just signing up for 6 weeks of personal training, so this is a really great deal. I hope you don’t let it pass you by. So, if you’re really committed to changing your body before the holidays, register now!

Here is what past participants have to say about their experience upon completing the 6 Week Total Body Transformation:

“This 6 week class has been life changing for me. Like many, I knew many of the principles covered in the class (diet, exercise, what to do, not to do) but Sara put them all together, plus more, in one package and along with her knowledge, enthusiasm and patience, the light bulb finally went off! For the first time in my life, I can honestly say I look forward to working out and really am aware of what I am eating! I have lost 11 pounds and 8 inches and am excited about the way I feel about myself!” Lisa, 52, Manager, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance

“I signed up for TBT to lose weight and improve my overall health and mental well-being. All of these were accomplished!! My weight loss goal was eighteen pounds, and I achieved an 18.8 pound loss. I am more awake and alert during the day and have more energy. On bootcamp days I notice the greatest positive effects.” Kevin, 41, Business Owner

I signed up for TBT because I need a change in my routine. I was eating, ‘kind of healthy’ and I was working out ‘pretty regular’, but not to the extent that I was changing my body. I wanted a change and I needed to be accountable to more than myself to make it happen. I can justify anything so there were always reasons why I didn’t end up working out or why we ate out instead of cooking. I’m competitive by nature so having weekly weigh ins and a manual to write everything I ate down was great for me. A major kudos to the class is that it combines cardio with strength. Plus, I want to look amazeballs at my wedding. I want people whispering to each other while I walk down the aisle about how awesome I look…and at this point I think they will and I have Sync Fitness to thank for it! Lost 9 lbs Lost 8 inches (3 off the middle!) Lost 4% body fat……AND COUNTING! Megan, 29, Wedding Planner

“I signed up for the TBT because I was out of control. I would randomly just eat whatever was around and never really think about its nutritional value. I knew that the summer months would only make this worse if I didn’t get some kind of handle on my eating and exercise habits. For me, this program has made me much more aware of what I am putting into my mouth…and why! I am a new fan of water consumption, even though it has never been my favorite thing. I also discovered many new ways to cut calories but not give up on taste or satisfaction. Plus, thanks to the morning boot camps, my arms and back have never looked this good! I’m moving in the fall months with a new-found motivation to keep up these good habits. Thanks Sara!” Shannon, 40, High School English Teacher

“I have maintained a steady weight and body shape for most of my life, until the last year or so. Between lifestyle/health/medical changes, I was the most “out of shape” that I’ve ever been, at about 15 pounds above my normal weight. The Total Body Transformation program was the perfect opportunity to get my butt in gear . The first thing that caught my attention about the program was Sara’s enthusiasm and commitment to support her trainees. She has a lot of knowledge to share, and does so in an open-minded way. Attending Boot Camp 3 days/week has had the biggest impact on me in so many different ways: my energy level is much higher, my mood has improved, my food choices are smarter… I’ve said to myself at LEAST once a week, “I feel like a million bucks!!” And the technical results back up my mantra – I’ve lost over 10 pounds and 4″ from my waistline! Wendy, 30, Landscape Designer

“I signed up for this program when I found out from my MD that my medical stats (cholesterol, etc) were going up. They were still in the safe range, but they were heading in the wrong direction and that I needed to lose weight in order to get them going in the right direction. . . I lost 10 pounds, something I have been trying to do for many years, and 6 inches overall. My strength and balance have improved as has my self-image. I commute the seven miles home by bicycle several times a week, and now find that I only need to take one break when I go uphill rather than the two I needed in the past. I’m stronger, faster and even with several jobs am less stressed out as a result of the regular exercise and good diet Sara insisted upon. Sara provides the means and motivation to follow it in class and beyond. I look forward to continuing to work with her on my goals and would recommend her to anyone!” Bridget, 41, Curator/Registrar/Educator

“I started Sync Fitness’ Total Body Transformation out of desperation and really didn’t expect much as far as results. Everything else I’d tried over the last several years didn’t work but with my wedding 2 months away I was willing to give it a try. In six weeks I lost 15 pounds and a total of 10 inches. My confidence level has risen and so has my energy level. I look and feel amazing. I’ve learned so much and would never go back to my old eating habits. This program has been life changing for me. I’m now armed with the information to look and feel great for the rest of my life. This program has given me the gift of feeling beautiful on one of the most important days of my life. I’m thrilled with the results!” Christie, 34, Dental Sales

“I had a wonderful experience participating in the TBT program. During the 6 weeks I learned about nutrition, how my body is fueled by calories, how to maximize caloric burn and was physically challenged by Sara’s rigrious (& creative) workouts. Whenever I had a question about meal planning or workouts, Sara was available to guide me. The TBT program not only helped me lose pounds and inches, it also armed me with skills to incorporate healthy fitness and nutrition practices into my post-TBT life.” Erica, 34, Buyer, Nordstrom

Sara’s program worked when nothing else did. I signed up to lose weight and to reduce my cholesterol levels. I was able to lose over 13 pounds in merely 6 weeks without feeling as though I was suffering. Sara created a holistic program that encompassed sound nutrition, accountability, and an excellent training program. What separates Sara and her program from others is her vast knowledge-base and follow-through. She is also flexible in tailoring her program to individual needs. Her lack of rigidity and emphasis on the big picture really helped keep me motivated. I cannot say enough good things about Sara and her program. Barbara, 41, Entrepreneur

Over the last two+ years, I gained 30 lbs for a variety of reasons. I was disliking my body enough and depressed enough that I was regularly overeating to the point of feeling sick most nights. I signed up for Sara’s program after trying several other methods to get my weight problem under control. . . The reason I gave to Sara when I signed up was that I could choose to spend more money at Nordstrom on larger new clothes, or I could spend that money on her program and loose enough weight to wear the beautiful clothes in my closet. I could tell I had made the right investment only 2 weeks into the program. There was a dramatic difference in how my clothing was fitting. By week 4 I was forced to sort out the size 14 pants from my closet because they were just way too baggy. Now I am starting too wear some of my size 10 stuff. I am feeling stronger. My back is not hurting after a long day. I have more energy at work. I look forward to the workouts. I like how I look when I walk past storefronts and can see my reflection. Thank you, Sara!! Jill,55, Real Estate Development Project Manager

I signed up for the TBT program after working out regularly on my own for years without being able to lose the last 10 lbs. after having kids. I thought I knew what to do and what to eat but I wasn’t having success losing weight in my waist and hips. During the program, I found that I could get more from Sara’s 45 minute bootcamps than hours in the gym doing the wrong things. Every workout is different, and goes by so quickly I hardly even realized how hard I was working. Sara gives you nutritional plans that are easy to follow and I never felt hungry or deprived. At the end of 6 weeks, I lost 12 lbs. and 3 inches from my waistline. That was more success in 6 weeks than I had had in years working out on my own! Plus, I feel I have gained the knowledge of what I should put in my body , how much to eat and the confidence that I can do it on my own. I have so much energy, sleep great and am a positive role model for my kids & family now. Best of all, I am really excited to feel this great when I turn 40 in 2 weeks! Thanks Sara! Melissa 40, Teacher, Mom

Because there is already so much interest in this program and I only have limited space to give you 110% of my energy and support, I am asking very serious people to apply for the program. Yes, you must apply. Don’t be scared. I just need a tool to determine who is most appropriate at this time for this round of my 6 Week Total Body Transformation.

PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS PROGRAM SOLD OUT WITHIN 8 HOURS OF LAUNCHING IN THE PAST. IF YOU’RE SERIOUS YOU MUST APPLY TODAY!! To apply, email me at sara@syncfitness.com and answer the following questions:
1. What makes you a good candidate for this program at this time (January 16th – February 26th?) NOTE: I take this question very seriously. Please give it some thought. I need to know you’re ready to commit.
2. Can you attend three workouts each week at the following times: Mon/Wed/Fri 6am, Mon/Fri 7am or Tu/Th 6pm?
3. Can you eat clean and closely follow my meal plan in spite of upcoming events?
4. Can you cut alcohol out for this 6 weeks or limit yourself to 2 drinks PER WEEK for the duration of the program?
5. Can you handle before and after pictures, measurements, body fat testing and weekly weigh ins?
6. Can you commit to 2 payments of $247? You will be billed once at the beginning of the program and again at the halfway point.

Ok, the choice is yours. By the end of February you could be fitter, happier, healthier and 10-20 pounds lighter. Or you could be just as you are today – frustrated, uncomfortable in your own skin and jealous of your skinny friends. I hope you choose the former and make 2011 YOUR year!

Game on ladies and gents – LET’S DO THIS!!!

Here is some footage of last week’s classes. We are having a blast at Gasworks. By having a blast, I mean people are sweating like crazy and working their fannies off, literally! It’s been really inspiring to see all these folks working so hard. They are seeing the results of their hard work pay off, too. I’m getting all sorts of reports of people tightening up their belts and feeling like their clothes are too big. On top of that people are setting new physical records every week. One woman emailed me to report she did 52 push ups on her toes in one class. A few months ago, she was still hammering them out on her knees. Awesome progress. If you check out the video above you’ll even see someone pumping out some one-armed push ups! GOOD TIMES! I hope this video gets you FIRED UP and you decide you must come get in on the fun yourself!

To all my Boot Campers: Leave a comment below telling me your favorite Boot Camp exercise (or least favorite, so I can be sure to include it more often!)

ARE YOU READY TO GET SWEATY?

Join Sync Fitness Boot Camp at Gasworks Park to BLAST FAT, BURN CALORIES, and BUILD LEAN MUSCLE. This is Seattle’s BEST Boot Camp. Serving Seattle since 2003, Sync Fitness has learned what people love and what people hate (and what they love to hate!) We are here to help you make the most of your workouts and push you harder than you can push yourself. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much you enjoy the experience.

LOCATION:

Gasworks Park

2101 North Northlake Way

DAYS/TIMES:

Classes start July 5th

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 6AM

Tuesday/Thursday 6PM

Classes are 45 minutes in length

COST:

2-3 days a week = $179 monthly

4-5 days a week = $249 monthly

WHAT TO EXPECT:

With the beautiful Seattle/Lake Union backdrop from sunny Gasworks Park, you’ll be working with people of all fitness levels. We will be running, jumping, squatting and lunging. In between all that, we’ll throw in some push ups (we know at least 12 different kinds!), planks, rowing and serious core work. Be prepared for sweaty fun!

WHAT CURRENT CAMPERS ARE SAYING:

“I am having so much fun in Boot Camp. I never thought I could workout (hard!) at 6:00 in the morning, but with an awesome workout to look forward to, getting out of bed on Boot Camp days is a pleasure. The creative sessions and keen encouragement make all the difference. I have an injury that she’s really careful about helping me work through, and I’m feeling tougher and stronger than I ever did cranking out the same old moves all the time at the gym!” Loryn K.

“I’m down 8 lbs, and I feel like have gained a ton of muscle. I was able to donate some of some pants/jeans to Goodwill that were getting too big.” Susan R.

“Sync Fitness Boot Camp helped me lose 10 lbs and 3 inches off my waist. Now I can do 100 pushups on my toes!” Ben W.

“I dropped about three pant sizes, I feel more confident with less stomach jiggle and I can run twice around Greenlake!” Sarah H.

“I joined Sync Fitness after an ACL reconstruction and the blessings of my Surgeon. Sara programmed not only strength conditioning, but her approach and her use of plyometrics resulted in a weight drop of 14 pounds and very noticeable change in my ability to jump into all the sports I had missed for way too long. A great experience.” Armando Z.

“Sara is a workout Goddess. I love her classes. Her workouts are never boring but are seamless moving from one exercise to the next keeping you challenged but having fun all the same. Thanks to Sara, I am now able to do real push ups on my toes despite an old broken elbow. On top of that my lower back pain has completely disappeared. I always look forward to my next class!” Lara S.

“I’m stronger (up to 25 full push ups!), and it has given me confidence in all aspects of my life.” Treena C.

“Since I started working out with Sync Fitness I have more energy, am stronger and actually look forward to working out at 6am! I am amazed at the progress I have made in a few months of Boot Camp. I have lost weight, increased my endurance and was able to decrease my cholesterol medication!” Lisa H.

“My butt looks better in jeans!” Nicole A.

“Sara helped me to achieve a goal I’d never thought I’d be able to. With Sara’s support and training schedule I was able to complete my first half marathon!” Heather H.

“Sara is not one of those scary trainers who you dread working out with. She makes working out fun and learning new techniques easy.” Sarah W.

“I have been training with Sync Fitness since March of 2009. Starting out with one strength training class a week, Sara’s encouragement helped me gain confidence in my athletic ability to step it up to her twice weekly Boot Camp in September of 2009. After I started the twice weekly Boot Camp I have noticed a significant change in my body, my clothes fit better, my energy level has improved by leaps and bounds and my sense of well being has increased tremendously. Probably most significant would be the positive comments others have made about my overall appearance and attitude! Thank you!” Erika P.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL:
If you register for Gasworks Boot Camp before June 17th, you will receive $50 off your first month. So – don’t hold out, REGISTER TODAY to save big and change your life, your body and your confidence this summer!
