Seattle Rock ‘n Roll Marathon 2009!
This year is the first annual Seattle Rock ‘n Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. The big day is June 27, 2009. This will become the new Seafair Marathon. Rock ‘n Roll Marathons are all over the country. They are known for being high energy, fun and GREAT for first timers. So if you’ve been thinking about running a marathon in Seattle – this might be the one for you. If you’re not up for 26.2 miles, cut it in half and do the half marathon, a mere 13.1 miles. If you’ve never done either distance, this is a great opportunity to take the bull my the horns. With band performances every mile, the miles are bound to whiz by and you’ll be crossing that finish line before you know it. Check out the website for more info: http://www.rnrseattle.com/.

Seattle Marathon 2008: RUN GAIL AND MERIEL!
What a great day! Today my clients Meriel and Gail crossed the finish line of the Seattle Half Marathon and Marathon, respectively.
This was Meriel’s third half marathon where she was working to improve her speed and she did an awesome job. She’s trained hard to improve her strength, speed and endurance the past few months. She crossed that finish line so fast, I almost didn’t see her fly by.
Gail completed the marathon – her FIRST marathon. What an accomplishment! She was running and smiling and chatting every time I saw her along the way. She made this monster of a race look simple. Gail just began running regularly 6 months ago, so she has been eating, sleeping and drinking marathon training for the last few months. She followed her training program well and crossed the finish line with a smile on her face!
One of my favorite things to do as a trainer is see my clients perform on race day. Today was the best – I got to see these women run their fannies off! I am so grateful they let me tag along on the course and at the finish line. I am so proud of them!
